70 District Square SW Washington DC 20024
Thursday, July 12, 2018 – 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
With more than four billion fans, soccer is easily the most popular sport in the world. Yet it didn’t start to take hold in the U.S. until the 1970s, and Major League Soccer wasn’t organized until 1996. But the U.S. has caught up fast—soccer is now the #1 sport for American children—and Arena, the most successful soccer coach in American history, is a major reason. Inspiring, exciting, and full of tips for coaches, his memoir recaps his outstanding career at the University of Virginia, where he led the school to five national titles; his two D.C. United championships; and his brilliant work with United States Men’s National Team and the historic upset of Portugal at the 2002 World Cup.
This event is free to attend with no reservation required. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis.
